Ask anyone to describe the home they loved most and they will rarely mention a kitchen island. They talk about a window: where it was, what it looked at, and how the light moved across the floor in the afternoon.
Judge the window first
When we walk a property, we sit before we look. Sill height, depth of reveal and orientation decide whether a window becomes a place to spend time or simply a hole in a wall.
Three quick tests
Sit at the window with a coffee at 8am and again at 6pm. Check what the neighbours see. And notice whether there is anywhere comfortable to sit within two steps of the glass.
